Slidin Dirty at the Albany Wine & Dine for the Arts Festival

They liked us, they really liked us! We had a fantastic time at the second annual Slider Slam on Friday, January 18 as part of the Wine & Dine for the Arts Festival.

We served up one of our most popular items – the Dirty Asian with beef, bok choy, scallion, and Asian mustard on a sesame seed bun. And guess what? We won Judges Choice! We’ve received great coverage from Steve Barnes on Tablehopping and bloggers such as Wanda Mann from the Black Dress Traveler who were judging the event. To celebrate, we’ve featured both the chicken and beef version of the Dirty Asian on the menu all week long.

To say we’re excited would be an understatement. What a great way to wrap up our first year in business! We have a lot to be thankful for and a ton to look forward to. Slidin Thankful This Thanksgiving

When you have so much to be thankful for, it’s hard to single out the one thing we’re the most grateful for this year. We say it time and time again, but it really boils down to the fans. Seriously, we love you. And what we love the most is how our food is enjoyed by so many different types of people, from lawyers to programmers, and more recently, students.

We’re becoming a regular part of the landscape over near the RPI Footbridge on 15th Street. Recently, David Hodson of the campus publication, The Rensselaer Polytechnic, ran a feature on our food. Our favorite line: “It was so pretty that I can safely say I have dated things less attractive.” We’re sorry to hear that, David, but so happy you enjoyed your sliders!

We wish all of our dirty fans (teachers, lawyers, programmers, and students alike) a very Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. We’ll be around after Thanksgiving to break up the monotony of turkey leftovers, so stay tuned for our post-holiday schedule!

Gettin Dirty in the News

It’s no secret – we love the Capital Region! Since hitting the road back in February, we’ve been humbled by the love and support of fans from Albany to Saratoga Springs. Thanks to all the great things you’ve said about us, we’ve gotten a few mentions in the news!

Last week, Steve Barnes of the Times Union posted on his blog about a reader searching for food truck catering services for their wedding. We were overjoyed to see how many people recommended us in the comment section and had such wonderful things to say about their experience with us. Thank you to all of our fans for the mention!

Additionally, we were visited by JoDee Kenney of YNN last week during curbside delivery near the RPI campus. We took a few minutes to answer some questions about our history, menu, and how we plan to continue to bring Slidin’ Dirty around the Capital Region during the winter months with our food delivery and catering services. JoDee wrote up some great coverage of the trip on her blog.
